Week-ap Wednesday

Hi all!

This week I skipped out on New Tracks Tuesday (but don’t worry, it shall return next week!). In its place, I’ve decided to install a bi-weekly post that briefly recaps what’s been going on during my week! Week-ap Wednesday! So here we go! (Lots of exclamation points!)

What I just finished reading: Fifty Shades Freed by E.L. James
It’s taken me three years to get through this trilogy. Three loooooooooong and painful years. Let’s just say I’m glad it’s over! (But-I-couldn’t-help-myself-and-just-bought-her-new-book-Grey). No judgement please.

What I’m currently reading: Paper Towns by John Greene
As an original reader and adopter of The Fault In Our Stars, I am ashamed that I haven’t picked up this book sooner! I know it sounds like I’m jumping on the bandwagon because the movie is coming out, but I promise I’m not!

What I’m tired of listening to: “Fight Song” by Rachel Platten
We get it. You’re strong and a fighter. Now please stop. Just stop.

What I’m currently listening to: “Cool For The Summer” by Demi Lovato
I am a HUGE Lovatic! This song is anything BUT cool….IT’S HOT and SEXY and PERFECT for the summer! Check it out here!

What I’m currently watching: The Real Housewives of Orange County and New York, Bravo
O.C. has always been a safe bet, but with the addition of the entitled housewife, Meghan, things are sure to get dramatic and feisty this season! Also, New York is out of its slump, FINALLY! Thanks to Bethenny’s return, this show is on top and at its finest!

What I finished watching: The Affair, Showtime
Just binge-watched the first season of this steamy, seaside Showtime program. Though slow at first, this show’s emotion and plot builds pretty quickly by the end, leaving you more! No spoilers here, but check it out On Demand if you can.

Now that I’m done blabbing, give me your Week-ap! What are you currently reading/listening/watching? Have any good suggestions?

  3. I really should get on that Paper Town's book, it looks very interesting. I agree 10000% thank goodness New York Housewives brought back Bethany, that's the only reason I even watched NY. Happy Wednesday!

  4. Totally agree with that fight song. Totally over it! Have you heard the new Hillary Duff song? I just got showtime so I'm binge watching Masters of Sex right now.

  6. So- I am currently reading the second book of Fifty Shades of Grey- I finally gave in a watched the movie- wasn't that into it- i feel like the books are just full of emotions- and the movie misses all that. Although Mr Grey was fun to look at on screen :D lol. I have not picked up any other books but i am going to look for Paper Towns at the library today- heard so many good things- and I might be jumping on the band wagon a bit ;) I just finished watching all of Shield on Netflix, and I am just trying to find shows to watch so that I keep my mind off of Game of Thrones. I cannot wait for the next season!!!
And if i keep writing here I wont have anything left to write in my blog hahaha jk. Awesome blog post as always. Xx

    1. The second book was the best out of the trilogy, because there's actually a thriller plot twist to it. The books are so-so. I was impressed with the movie though. I didn't think it was that bad. I HAVE TO WATCH THE SHIELD! It's been on my list for a while. And GoT... ahhh, I finished the latest book last year. Took me three years to get through them all. Thanks for stopping by! :D

  7. I haven't read Paper Towns yet but I want to read it before I see the movie. Also, I'm impressed you could get through the 50 shades books; I got about 50 pages in and was like, "Nope. Can't do this." and never even finished the first book. I haven't bothered seeing the movie, either.

    1. Haha Heather, I don't blame you!!! It was such a pain to get through....but I'm a glutton for punishment. What are some of your fav books? Do you like to read?

  8. 3 Years?? I finished all 3 books in about a month. I enjoyed the warped love story between Ana & Christian, but I got to admit... Freed, was the hard for me to get through too! It had some good moments, but I felt like Ana nagged way too much for no reason. I think the 50 shades Darker is the BEST! It had more action & OMG moments. Very fun post to read, your awesome personality shines all up & through it!

    1. Wow! That's quick! And when I say three years, you have to understand that I read 100 books in between. I didn't take one whole year for each book :) I'm glad you overall enjoyed the series! I do feel like Ana didn't nag ENOUGH actually. It always bothered me that right when she would stand her ground, she would melt again over him....That annoyed me! haha

  9. Reading is a luxury that I have to fit back into my life. As a mom of two preschoolers my reading list consists of The Lion King and Mater Takes Paris! Lol but when I get back to it want to re-read The One Minute Millionaire.

    1. I'm in the middle of reading ATLYCS too! It's pretty good so far! And I should check out Poldark, is that on PBS? Maybe pop in some headphones and listen to some tunes from time to time :) Thanks for stopping by Brooke!

  11. So "The Fault in Our Stars" is on my reading list. I guess I'll need to add Paper Towns. I'm currently reading "Thrive" by Arianna Huffington, it's really good thus far. I also just started "Orange is the New Black", I'm only on episode 3 of season 1. The jury is still out on how I feel about this series. I was told to give it a few more episodes to really get into it, so we'll see. I've been listening to a lot of gospel music and love songs lately. I'm traveling a lot for work and miss my family, so the gospel helps to settle me, and the love songs remind me of my husband :)! I love this week-ap thing ;)!!!

    1. Aww, sorry to hear about your homesickness. I get that too when I travel for work :/ But I'm glad you found an outlet to keep your spirits up! That's always awesome to be able to carry a taste of home around wherever you go! I also watch OITNB. It's interesting, but it's definitely not for everyone. It's pretty brash and open, which can turn some people off (understandably). Let me know what you think!

  12. I'm so on the bandwagon to check out Paper Towns. I still can't bring myself to read the 50 Shades trilogy even though I bought it! I'm loving the return of Bethenny to RHONY! It was terrible without her. I'm also jonesing on Under The Dome and Wayward Pines.

  14. I keep hearing about "The Affair" I'm sure it's a great show, I just can't bring myself to watch it - I think because I've had so many friends who have been cheated on by their husbands. I just can't get behind glorifying it ya know? :)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I completely hear ya on that...but trust me. Adultery is anything BUT glorified on that show. The characters are despicable, but the mystery and drama sucks you in. But again, I completely understand where you're coming from! What shows do you like to watch?

  15. Hehehehe I'm all about real housewives too!! You would think after all these years I would be sick of it, but nope! Can never get enough!

  18. I am not a romance reader or television show watcher. If someone isn't dying it doesn't really hold my interest. Currently we are watching the syfy channels Defiance season three started out just like season one of games of thrones. I also just finished binge watching season 4 of Hell on Wheels. Want to talk about a super sexy bearded leading man!!! I am also currently re-reading for the fifth time Count of Monte Cristo.

  25. Ha, judging you slightly for picking up Grey. It was painful to finish the original trilogy, so I thought it best to leave this new book alone. I am currently reading Paper Towns and love it! Also, I soon as I heard Bethenny was returning, NYC Housewives got me back on board.

Loving the blog so far and I'll definitely be back.

If you like those type of books read the Crossfire series. Paper Towns is on my list to read. I love me some OC housewives!! Meghan is going to be fun this season!!! I'm over Shannon.
